CrimeCon 2022 COVID-19 Update

Last updated: April 16, 2022

CrimeCon urges all attendees to consider their personal health situations and risk tolerances when deciding whether to attend CrimeCon 2022.

As of this update, Las Vegas, which is located in Clark County, Nevada, is rated in the lowest transmission category by the CDC with approximately 31.1 cases and 2.7 hospital admissions per 100,000 people.

In this category the CDC recommends that everyone stay up to date on vaccines and get tested if they have symptoms. Regarding mask wearing, the CDC states: “People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.”

While masks will be optional at CC22, CrimeCon supports individual efforts and personal responsibility in protection against COVID-19. The organizers reserve the right to revoke or suspend access to anyone if the health and safety of our attendees or other participants is in question.

CrimeCon urges anyone with concerns about their health and safety to consider a Livestream badge or, if in person, to wear a mask and, whenever practical, to maintain physical distance from other attendees.

CrimeCon will have on-site testing capabilities (rapid Antigen and PCR), which are free to anyone with private insurance. (There is a modest charge for those without insurance.) If you have any symptoms while in Vegas, we urge you to utilize this testing service, which will be available at Napoleon’s Bar at the entrance to the convention space on Friday 8:00am-1:00pm (PT), Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm, and Sunday 8:00am-10:00am.

The Paris Hotel has also implemented a variety of safety measures in our meeting space, including:

- All Convention staff have complete required COVID-19 training

- Frequent cleaning and sanitation of high touch point areas of the convention space

- Hand sanitizing stations are placed throughout the convention space

- The property’s filtration system meets the CDC requirements and standards

Finally, we ask all attendees to attest that they will not attend any CrimeCon-affiliated event if any of the following apply:

- You have tested positive for COVID-19 and have not completed CDC’s guidelines for ending isolation.

- You are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

- Within the previous 5 days, you have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, but you have not completed the Quarantine and Isolation Guidelines recommended by the CDC.

We appreciate your support and patience as we work to create a safe weekend for everyone!
